Offerings

When praying I talk to Loki first, thanking Him for the blessings I have in my life, and the ability to enjoy the Chaos He has introduced. When placing offerings of food or drink I hail Loki, and His family members depending on the type of offerings.

Candy, coffee sweetened with honey and spiced with cinnamon, and alcohol goes to Loki

Hot sweetened black tea goes to Angrboda

Cookies or small treats go to Narvi and Vali (sometimes small toys also end up as an offering for Them as well.)

Fresh flowers and fruit juice go to Sigyn

Dried flowers and slices of fruit go to Hel

Meat or bones go to Fenris and Jormangandr

A glass of cool water is offered to our House’s spirit

Clover and dandelion flowers go to my pet rabbit Mary

I recently felt called to worship the Canaanite Goddess Athirat, and give offerings to Her in the form of purple Geranium or Morning Glory flowers, gemstone beads and purple candles.

I try to change out the food and liquid items each day, rinsing the dishes and cups out and making sure they are ready for new offerings. Non-edible items are touched or reaffirmed mentally, and wilted flowers or plants are composted in our garden.

About darkbookworm13

I am a proud mom to 3 beautiful girls, and married to the love of my life. I have been a practicing Witch since the summer of 2003, having studied many different paths over the years, ranging from Wicca, Goddess only worship (courtesy of StarHawk), Eclectic Paganism, Kitchen Witchcraft, Norse Paganism, Hearthcraft, Spiritual Luciferianism, and more. I have worked with the Futhark runes, Brian Froud's Faeries Oracle deck, Tarot decks, and I am currently working on a customized divination set based on collected items. I like to work with herbs, and gardening. I crochet and make handicrafts like wood burned items, paintings, drawings, toys, and hand sewn doll clothes for my daughters. The only title I call my spiritual path is Witchcraft, as using magic entwines deeply with the worship of the Gods who call me Their own. My Patron deity is Loki, who has chosen me as His kin.
